Since then he has served in many parishes in our diocese and was appointed Parish Priest of Blackrock in 2013.
The funeral arrangements for the late Canon Kieran Twomey are as follows:
Reposing at Sullivans Funeral Home, Turners Cross on Saturday from 4pm until 7pm.
Reception into St. Michael’s Church, Blackrock, on Monday at 11am followed by Requiem Mass at 12noon. Burial afterwards in Douglas Cemetery.

May Canon Kieran now rest in the peace of the Lord whom he served faithfully.

But what is the Church’s teaching?

There is a mountain of commentary and information available dealing with the Irish government’s proposal to ask the people to remove the Eight Amendment to the Constitution by referendum. If the referendum is passed, the government proposes to then pass laws that will significantly widen the availability of legal abortion in Ireland.

So what does the Catholic Church really teach about this? Where can the authentic teaching be found?

This series of newsletter is prepared by the Irish Catholic Bishops Conference and each two-age issue addresses the issues involved in clear and understandable language. You can download and read them here.
