All Organ pipes are sponsored! Many thanks.

This is good news for our parish but I’m sure a few may be disappointed. All the 678 pipes being installed in the pipe organ of our parish church in Enniskeane have been sponsored!

Sincere thanks to all who have supported the organ installation. In spite of these being challenging times for everyone, people have shown great generosity. May the good Lord bless all who have their names on the pipes and may he reward the sponsors with his kindness.

By coincidence, the last of the pipes are also being installed this week by Padraig O’Donovan.

The organ will be blessed and dedicated by Bishop Buckley on Dec 7th.

Final set of pipes installed this week

The final set of pipes being installed in the Enniskeane Church pipe organ will be in place this week. All the organ’s original 622 pipes are already installed.

The addional set of 56 pipes (also known as a “stop”) will bring the number of pipes to 678. The extra set will add the sound of a trumpet to the organ’s range. These pipes were sourced in the west of Ireland and are from a church pipe organ that has been taken out of use.

Painting of the gallery is now ongoing in preparation for the choir’s return the gallery in preparation for the dedication Mass on Dec 7th.

Very close to 500 of the organ pipes sponsored. THANKS

In the dreary economic state of this country it’s all too easy to loose sight of the goodness of people. There’s a real spirit of goodness, Godliness and generosity evident in our parish and its friends. This spirit was never more evident than in the tremendous response of people to the installation of the pipe organ in Enniskeane Church.

As of now, 492 of the pipes have been sponsored and dedicated to named individuals and families. That’s nearly three-quarters of the 678 pipes. Accompanying donations have amounted to over €18,000 so far.

The word ‘thanks’ seems inadequate in the face of such goodness but the Lord has his own eternal way of blessing people whose hearts reflect his kindness to us.

Almost two thirds of the pipes sponsored and Oboe installed

Sincere thanks to all the people from near and far who have sponsored pipes in the pipe organ for our parish church.

The installed organ will have 678 pipes in it. On Sept 11th, 2012, 409 of the pipes have been dedicated to named people. That’s over 60% of the pipes — or nearly two-thirds of the total!

The first batch of the printed souvenir certificates will be ready to be posted shortly. The certificate states which pipe has been sponsored, by whom, and to whom it is dedicated.

Listen to how the organ sounds on Sept 12

323 pipes dedicated: wiring progressing

August 9th and 323 of the pipes of the pipe organ have been dedicated and sponsored. Many thanks.

Current task in hand: to complete the wiring inside the organ. Air is pumped around the organ by a large bellows to be available to each pipe. At the base of each pipe, there’s an electric magnet which opens and closes the mouth of the pipe and controls whether it gets air to play or not. This magnet is wired back to the keyboard. There’s a magnet for each pipe! A lot of wires!

A look at some of the special magnets and wiring.
