Welcome back!

As Covid-19 restrictions are eased, Enniskeane Parish welcomes congregations back from Monday May 10th. This short video tells you what you need to know.

Ash Wednesday counts in pandemic too

This year, instead of people having Blessed Ashes placed on their foreheads by a priest on Ash Wednesday (Feb 17th), the Diocese of Cork and Ross is organising for special envelopes to be printed and distributed to the parishes.

Before Ash Wednesday these will have Ashes placed into them (safely) in parishes and they will be blessed in the churches on the morning of Ash Wednesday by the priests at Mass – behind closed doors.

They will then be available in the churches during the day so that people who can stop by for a prayer can also take one of the envelopes of Ashes and take them home to their own household and to another house where they may be part of a care bubble.

Guidance has been given to parishes to ensure compliance with public health and restrictions.Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is a day of fast and abstinence.

It’s one of two days in the year (Good Friday is the other day) when Catholics are required to fast (restrict to one light meal and one snack) and abstain from meat, alcohol and luxuries.

(This applies to anyone over 14 except those who are elderly or unwell.)

Donate to the parish collections online

One of the impacts of Covid19 is that the traditional ways people used to support their local church and clergy have been taken away from them.

Parishes including ours are setting up new ways which people can use to continue their donations to the parish.

We’re not asking for more money – especially not in these extraordinary times – just offering people a new way to give their usual amount.

An online donation facility has now been added to our parish website. Use a credit card to contribute to the parish collections – either once off or set up a regular donation.

It’s secure, private and confidential. And whatever you donate will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Support the parish with online donations

Since the Covid-19 lockdown there have not been church collections. People can contribute to the parish in a number of ways

Handing in envelopes to the Parish Office or Parochial House

Posting a cheque (for parish offerings made out to Enniskeane Parish; for station dues for the clergy made out to Fr Tom Hayes)

or by setting up a standing order on your own bank account

If you use online banking, it’s easy to set up a standing order. You’ll need the BIC and IBAN of the parish account which are given here.

Details of Enniskeane Parish Bank Account

When you set up the standing order (to make a monthly payment to the parish) be sure to use your parish envelope number as the reference so that we can credit the donation correctly.

If you don’t have a parish envelope number, please contact the parish office and we will give you one. Email: parishoffice@enniskeaneparish.ie

Welcoming people back to Mass — with restrictions

Saturday evening’s Mass is at 7.30pm

Sunday Mass is at 11am — and this Mass will be broadcast live on the parish Facebook Page.

We also have weekday morning Mass at 10 am on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri.
